Their passion for Salsa has brought Max and Silvia together and prompted them to bring Salsa into the Candover Valley!
Silvia: Dancing has always been my passion from an early age. So after Ballet I ventured into Jazz Dance and then since 1980 Ballroom Dancing. My true passion have always been the Latin Dances so after learning Jive I started Salsa in 2006 in Winchester and have not looked back since!
Max: Arriving in the UK in 2001 I had the opportunity to learn Salsa with the help of some excellent local and international teachers. I began to teach Salsa from March 2004 and found that teaching is another exciting and stimulating way to enjoy Salsa! I strive to continually improve my dancing and teaching abilities by attending UK and international Salsa congresses and workshops.
We started with our Salsa Party in Preston Candover, near Basingstoke on Tuesday the 16th of September 2008 at our Preston Candover Village Hall venue, which was a great success with so many of you attending! Beginners and Improvers Courses have run regularly since then and the drop-in option is always available too! Please see our Salsa Pics Gallery for pics of various events that have taken place.
The Winchester Discovery Centre in Winchester has been added as an additional Salsa y Sol venue since 18 May 2009 when we held a Taster evening, again so very well attended! Monday 1 June 2009 saw the start of our Beginners and Improvers/Intermediate Courses and drop-in classes in Winchester. Please see our Salsa Venues pages for venue locations.
Starting from September 2009 we've had the pleasure of holding Cuban Style Salsa classes at The Bishop on the Bridge in Winchester, on Sunday nights. This venue has a great party vibe for social dancing in all Salsa styles after class.
For more info on all our courses, as well as drop in classes, please see our Classes page.
